Student Health Care Services by FSHS / YTHS
The student health care services in Seinäjoki are organized by The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS / YTHS).
The services are available for you if:
- you study in bachelor or master level degree programme in Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences
- your study unit is located in Seinäjoki, Ilmajoki, Kurikka (Jurva), Kauhajoki or Ähtäri
- you pay the annual fee 42 euros per academic year (or 21 euros per academic term)
Services in Seinäjoki
As a customer of FSHS you will get expert treatment quickly. It is highly recommended that students use the FSHS services, because such high quality services are hard to find anywhere else with such low cost. After paying the FSHS Fee, you have access to:
Services, free of charge:
- General Practitioner
- Public Health Nurse
- Health examination
- Consultation by a physiotherapist
- First councelling period with a psychologist (1-5 times)
- First oral health examination
- Vaccinations
- Laboratory examinations and X-ray examinations
Services, chargeable:
- Oral health care services
- Mental health care services
- Specialist services (such as gynaecologists and dermatologists)

FSHS Fee
You will have access to the beneficial and high quality FSHS health care services after paying the annual FSHS Fee (42 euros per academic year or 21 € per academic term). The deadline to pay the fee for the whole academic year or for the autumn term was 15 October. It was also possible to pay the fee only for the spring term and use the services from the beginning of the January 2012. The fee for the spring term was to be paid by 15 February 2012.

FSHS centres around Finland

There are FSHS health centres in 16 towns and cities around Finland.
After paying the FSHS Fee, you are entitled to use the services of all the FSHS health centres.
Information on the pilot experiment
The Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has made a decision to implement a three-year pilot experiment from 2011 to 2014 regarding the provision of student health care services for students of universities of applied sciences using the FSHS model. The towns selected for the pilot are Seinäjoki and Lappeenranta.
