Working space for independent study
The library can be used for independent study. Team work rooms and classrooms are also at the students’ disposal when they are not reserved for teaching. There is also a computer room in the basement for independent work.
Where you can get information
Information is available on the notice boards and through the intranet. Current daily information can also be seen in the monitors in the main hall. Messages for a student group can be received in its own mailbox, located opposite the Student Affairs Office. Trustee students chosen by each student group are also responsible for informing the group of current events. Electronic mail can be used for personal correspondence. Examination results, schedules etc. are displayed on the noticeboard.
Computer Services and Electronic Mail
The Business School has about 350 Pentium-level microcomputers, all of which are connected to the local area network of the school. We are connected with the Seinäjoki city area network since 1990. The present web site www.seamk.fi has been in operation since 1998. Web information about studies, accommodation and many other things connected with studies can be found in the intranet of the school at http://intra.seamk.fi/kaupanala/. Each new student receives an email address and user identification for the local area network of the school. The email address follows the pattern Forename.Surname@seamk.fi (å, ä, and ö are replaced by a, a and o) and it can be used during the whole period. Computer classrooms are intended only for teaching. A special computer room with 25 microcomputers for student use is located in the basement.
