Practical Information for Exchange
Accommodation and Meals
The student apartments of the Jurva municipality are also available for
international students. The closest apartments are situated in the
School’s grounds and all other student houses are within 2 kilometres
from the School. The apartments are equipped with a shared
kitchen/living room.
To apply for a student apartment, please fill in the appropriate
form available at the student office. The monthly rent of student
apartments range from about 100 € to 200 €. The deposit of 100 € is
required. You can also apply for non-student apartments or rent an
apartment or a room from private Jurva residents.
Note! No pets are allowed in the student apartments.
Amica restaurant & cafeteria is located in the basement of the
former main building of the School and it provides lunch at a
reasonable price (open daily 11a.m-13p.m). Cafeteria’s opening hours:
Mon-Thu 8.30a.m - 14.30p.m and Fri 8.30a.m. - 13.30 p.m.
Student Life
The school weekly publishes an internal bulletin called Lastuja, which
provides information on most of the important events taking place
during the week - unfortunately the bulletin is only available in
Finnish. Current information is also displayed on the workshop bulletin
boards. Other information is provided by tutors and lecturers. In the
Student Affairs Office will always provide you with information
relating to your studies.
The school has a student guild whose purpose is to support students
in all matters relating to them. The student guild tries to help the
students feel at home by organizing parties and various events. The
guild has a meeting twice a month and has a bulletin board.

Student Affairs Office is located in the ground floor of the main
building and it is open on Mon-Thu at 10am-2pm, and on Fri at 10am-1pm.
