Innovation, New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in Social Work Teaching

The aim of the Intensive Programme (IP) "Innovation, New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in Social Work Teaching" (INVEST) is to design and implement a new module of entrepreneurship competence in social work field on European level by applying advanced interdisciplinary teaching and communication methods.

The programme aims at

  • intercultural communication and international relating,
  • lifelong learningand professionalization of social work and
  • development of innovative, venturing and entrepreneurial skills.

Intensive programme week in Lithuania in April 2009

The next Intensive Programme Week takes place in Vilnius University, Lithuania 20. - 30. April, 2009. During this week the students look at innovation, venturing and entrepreneurship from different perspectives. The focus points of the work groups are the public sector, the informal sector and the commercial sector. Also lectures about entrepreneurship in social work and social work education, international project development and intercultural communication are offered. Students also have an opportunity to get acquinted with the Lithuanian social security system and to develop their knowledge and skills by solving problems in intercultural perspective.

The following Intensive Programme Week will take place in Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Finland, during spring 2010.

  • Lithuania: Vilnius University
