International relations

International Projects

International research and development project cooperation promotes education and staff proficiency. Projects often also include student and teacher mobility and thesis work.  International R&D project cooperation of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences has intensified year by year thanks to the long-term international cooperation networks.

At the moment, Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences is involved in 32 international education development projects and other research and development projects as a partner or as a coordinator. The majority of the projects are European, which are principally financed by education programmes of the European Community. Notable cooperation projects are also carried out with Asian, African and American partners. Funding has been received also e.g. from Tekes, the National Technology Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Provincial State Office.

Leonardo da Vinci Programmes

Leonardo da Vinci Programme is a European Community Programme which promotes European cooperation between vocational and higher level institutes and advances the education in Europe .

Tempus Projects

Tempus is a cooperation programme in Higher Education managed by the European Commission. Tempus is a part of the more extensive Phare and Tacis programmes. The objective of the programme is to develop the higher level education system in the cooperation countries by renovating the education structures and by emphasising teaching and studying. Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences is involved in two Tempus projects.

Socrates / Erasmus projects

Socrates-Erasmus is the European Commission’s educational programme for Higher Education students, teachers and institutions. The programme involves the promoting of student and teacher mobility, teacher mobility, and funding of intensive courses and realising different education development projects. Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences is involved in 5 Socrates / Erasmus projects as a partner.

Nordplus- projects

NORDPLUS is a Nordic exchange programme, which aim is to enhance the co-operation between Nordic higher education institutions. The programme involves the funding of student and teacher mobility. Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences is nowadays involved in 2 Nordplus- projects.
