VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATION completed in Finland

The following qualifications give applicants general eligibility for the programmes:

  • A vocational qualification of three years or more in duration, completed in vocational upper secondary education and training or an earlier corresponding qualification
    (Ammatillinen perustutkinto, laki ammatillisesta koulutuksesta 630/98)
  • A vocational college diploma or higher vocational diploma
    (Opisto-asteen tai ammatillisen korkea-asteen tutkinto)
  • Vocational qualification in adult education
    (Ammatillinen perustutkinto, laki ammatillisesta aikuiskoulutuksesta 631/98)
  • Further vocational qualification (Ammattitutkinto)
  • Specialist vocational qualification (Erikoisammattitutkinto)

Eligibility for applying to a corresponding field of study is possible with

  • Vocational qualification of less than three years in duration or a corresponding earlier qualification
  • Combined education programmes of less than three years in duration
  • Vocational qualifications in adult education of less than three years in duration

Eligibility for UAS studies in a corresponding field of study may be extended to general eligibility for UAS studies by certain actions. Further information (in Finnish)

If you are applying with a further vocational qualification (ammattitutkinto) or specialist vocational qualification (erikoisammattitutkinto) you must provide a copy of the original certificate to the Admissions Office of your first-choice UAS by 24 February 2012.

If you apply with some other vocational qualification, you do not need to send any copies of your school certificates with the application form. Admitted students are asked to send copies of certificates when they accept their study place by 31 July 2012.
