International events at SeAMK School of Food and Agriculture

SeAMK School of Food and Agriculture organised International Week in June 11-15, 2018 with the topic of Food Safety. Participants came from SeAMK partner universities from Lithuania, Germany, United Kingdom, China and the Netherlands.  In workshops participants planned new cooperation methods like intensive courses and projects. Visits to laboratories of food processing and biotechnology as well as some company visits were part of the programme. At the same time organised annual Food Safety 2020 conference and Food Business Summit made it possible to network more widely.

Lecturer Adriana Sterian from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands, came to get new ideas for her work. Most fruitful impact of her visit was to network with other partner universities of SeAMK as well as the company visits to Atria and Foodwest, Sterian told.

According to lecturer Min Pang from Sanda University, China, the most interesting part of the programme was to get familiarize with Seinäjoki Overcoming of Obesity Programme as a part of Food Safety 2020 conference. Pang told she also learned a lot of the education/teaching methods in her own field when visiting the SeAMK laboratories of food processing and biotechnology.
