Entrance Examination for Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing
There are two application periods in Joint Application, spring 2019:
- Application period 1: 9 – 23 January 2019 (entrance exams outside Finland in March 2019 and in Finland on 9 April 2019)
- Application period 2: 20 March – 3 April 2019 (entrance exams in Finland on 9 April 2019)
Content of the entrance exam in 2019
The entrance examination consists of the following sections: mathematics, a written part and a group interview. The entrance examination places emphasis on aptitude for the study field by assessing interest, motivation and social, learning and work skills. Also the English language skills will be tested in the entrance examination.
Applicants must score at least 30 out of 70 points in the entrance examination. If you fail to reach the minimum point level in any of the examination parts, you will be disqualified from the entrance examination.
There is no pre-reading material for the entrance examination. Questions from previous years are not published.
The list of co-operating Nursing degree programmes
SeAMK co-operates with JAMK, Lapland UAS (Kemi) and Saimaa UAS. The Nursing degree programmes in these UASs accept the results of each others’ entrance examination. So you will be invited only to one Nursing entrance exam. The invitation is sent from the UAS that is the highest preference of these four co-operating UASs on the application form.
Locations of entrance exams in 2019
The entrance exam for the Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing in Finland will be held at the premises of SeAMK, in the City of Seinäjoki, on 9 April 2019. The invitations will be sent by email. Please note that decisions on the eligibility of applicants who apply in application period 2 are not done before the entrance examination.
The entrance examinations outside Finland will be held in March 2019 in co-operation with the FINNIPS network (Finnish Network for International Programmes). The list of entrance exam countries is published at: http://www.finnips.fi/en/entrance-exams/. More detailed information about the country and exam-specific schedules, locations and other procedures concerning the examinations will be sent to all the applicants in the invitation letter in the beginning of March.
