Robotics Laboratory

In the modern Robotics Laboratory, students learn industrial automation and robotics skills through hands-on practice. The laboratory is equipped with a versatile range of robots, including two ABB industrial robots (16 kg and 40 kg), three collaborative robots—two from Universal Robots (5 kg and 10 kg) and an ABB GoFa (10 kg)—as well as mobile robots from Omron and KUKA.

The machine vision equipment includes three industrial cameras, three smart cameras, a structured-light 3D camera, and two profile scanners. One of the smart cameras and one of the profile scanners are mounted above a dedicated conveyor, allowing them to simulate imaging on a production line.

In the laboratory, students practice tasks such as assembly, material handling, machine-vision-assisted picking, as well as programming and using machine vision applications for quality assurance and measurement. The equipment is utilised in teaching, thesis projects, and various research and development projects.

The laboratory offers students and industry partners a unique opportunity to develop practical solutions for future automation needs by combining expertise, innovation, and technology.
