Free-of-charge studies in Open UAS

SEAMK’s Open UAS individual courses and study modules of less than 60 credits are free of charge for unemployed and laid-off people.

Enrollment takes place in SEAMK’s Continuous Learning online shop. When enrolling, select the option “I am unemployed or laid off.” You must include a certificate of validity of the unemployment or lay-off from Työmarkkinatori webpage or the local employment services while enrolling.

The benefit system does not apply to POLKU pathway studies in the Open University of Applied Sciences or to higher education diploma courses, for which there is a separate application process. The benefit does not apply to continuing education or specialization studies.

Students are responsible for determining the possible effects of their studies on their unemployment benefits.

Graduates of SEAMK (SEAMK Alumni) can enroll free of charge in individual Open UAS individal courses (Bachelor’s and Master’s level) for up to two years after graduation from SEAMK. Individual courses are offered each spring and autumn across various fields at SEAMK.

When enrolling, select the option “I am an alumni of SEAMK Alumni and I have graduated within the last two years.” Your graduation date will be verified from Peppi after enrollment.

The alumni benefit does not apply to POLKU pathway studies, study modules, continuing education, or specialization studies.

From time to time, SEAMK Open UAS organizes campaigns during which you can enroll free of charge in specifically designated studies. Campaigns will always be announced separately.
