SEAMK TopUp Nursing Rolling Application is for health care professionals who already hold a degree completed in Nursing. You can apply to TopUp programme if you have completed one of the following outside of EU/EEA:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Diploma of Nursing
  • GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery); PCL (Proficiency Certificate Level); or Technical level Nursing studies of a minimum 3 years

Further information about applying and admission

Applications will be processed in order of submission through the application period. Eligible applicants will be invited to participate in an online group interview hosted by SEAMK through Microsoft Teams. The interview will assess the applicant’s previous education in nursing, motivation, study aptitude and English language proficiency. The evaluation of the interview will be marked as either pass or fail. Please read more about the application process in Studyinfo in the eligibility criteria.

The admission results will be published by 9 May 2026 at the latest. Please note that applications will be processed in order of submission. Applicants will be notified of the admission result by email. Admitted applicants are required to confirm their acceptance of the study place by 9 July 2026, 15.00 UTC+3 at the latest.

Applicants who accept their study place must also register as either attending or non-attending students for the spring semester of 2027 and fall semester 2027. Those admitted who are required to pay tuition fees will only be registered as attending students upon payment of the fees. Please be aware that applying through educational agents or organizations does not provide any advantages in securing a study place.

Please note: the application period and the interview rounds may close earlier than the stated dates if all study places are filled before the official end date.

Application fees

There will be an application fee when applying to higher education. Application fee is collected from applicants from countries outside EU/EEA. The application fee would not be charged for Finnish or EU citizens. Please read more about application fees at Studyinfo.fi.

Tuition fee schemes

Please take into consideration the One Study Place per Term -provision! A student may accept only one study place leading to a higher education degree in Finland in education that begins in the same academic term. This rule applies to all higher education. Applicant can accept only one study place in a degree programme starting in spring 2027 in a university of applied sciences or a university in Finland. 1. Final educational degree certificate

Applying with your final educational degree certificate:

  • Upload your final educational certificate to the application form when applying. Make sure to include all the pages with the degree certificate that the degree was granted with, for example the transcript of records.

The applicant must be graduated when applying, applicants graduating during the application process or after applying cannot be admitted.

2. A copy of an authorized translation of your degree certificate

A copy of an authorized Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate included with all the pages that the degree was granted (for example transcript of records) with must be provided, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. Authorized translations must include the signature and the stamp of the translator.

3. Identification documents

Attach a valid passport to your application form.

The following documents are accepted as proof of identity in SEAMK TopUp Nursing admission:

  • Passport
  • EU/EEA identity card (issued by a European Union / EEA country)

All applicants are required to upload a valid passport or an EU/EEA identity card with their application form. The identification document must remain valid until 20 May 2026. Additionally, an expired passport or identity card will be accepted if its validity expired on or after 20 May 2025.

Please be aware that your application will not be considered in the admissions process if you fail to provide the necessary proof of identity at the time of application.

Application limits

An applicant can have only one active application for the Nursing degree programme at any given time in TopUp Nursing application. If more than one application is submitted simultaneously, only the first one will be considered.

 

Start of studies

The start of studies is on 11.1.2027 for students accepted in TopUp Nursing admission. Students cannot defer their studies.

Arrival deadline for new students starting at SEAMK

New students admitted for the spring 2027 semester in the programme Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing must arrive at the SEAMK Campus in Seinäjoki on 25.1.2027 at the latest. Failure to arrive by the deadline and present original documents will result in cancellation of admission. Please note that the studies in Nursing programme start on 11.1.2027.

Verification of original documents

All new degree students admitted to the English-taught degree programmes at SEAMK are required to present their original documents upon starting their studies to SEAMK Admission Services. These documents will be compared with those submitted in the application. If original documents are not provided by the deadline or if false information has been submitted, admission will be revoked.

Selected students must present information about their completed internships in clinical nursing environments, their clinical training hours, and learning environments at the beginning of their studies at SEAMK. These documents must be original from the University that granted the nursing degree. Documents must be translated into Finnish or English language. These documents are required for the recognition of prior learning.
