SeAMK rewarded the Doers of the Year 2024

SeAMK rewarded the Doers of the Year at the Staff Afternoon meeting organised on 26 November 2024. From the 11 proposals made by SeAMK’s staff, three Doers of the Year 2023 and one Recognition of Good Mood were selected. This year’s winners are Senior Lecturer Riikka Ala-Sankila, Senior Lecturer Tommi Ylimäki, Coordinator in the Infomation Management Petri Keskinen and Airi Harju, an employee of Sodexo, which provides restaurant services.

According to the justifications, the qualities that unite the awardees include enthusiasm, consideration for others, acting with a big heart, courage to try new things, and a positive attitude towards development.

The Doer of the Year Award is given based on criteria derived from SeAMK’s strategy and values. SeAMK staff can nominate a person for the award who they believe meets one or more of the criteria. Proposals must be justified based on the following criteria:

  • A person bravely tries new things and does not give up, even if he/she fails. He/She has a can-do attitude, is service-oriented and works effectively. (Entrepreneurial spirit)
  • The person wants to internationalise and work in a multicultural environment. Through his/her activities, he/she contributes to the internationalisation of the region. (Internationalisation)
  • The person shows respect and care for others. He/She acts equally and openly and rejoices in shared success. He/She is proud of our expertise and our university of applied sciences. (SeAMK spirit)
  • The person bears responsibility for our students and the success of the region. He/she is accountable for his/her actions and cares about the common well-being and the environment. He/she develops his/her skills and promotes open practices. (Responsibility)
