Enrolment and study fees
Enrolling in Open University of Applied Sciences (Open UAS) courses is easy and quick. Places are mainly filled in order of enrolment. Open UAS studies usually include a study fee. Read more about enrolling, cancellation terms, and study fees!
Enrolment for Open UAS studies
Explore the course offerings in SEAMK’s Contnuous learning online store and add the studies that interest you to your basket. Please be aware that not all studies are conducted in English even though the title may be visible in English. Check the teaching language on the course information. After selecting the studies, click the “Enrol in all” button to fill in the enrolment form. Enrolment requires strong authentication and acceptance of the cancellation terms. Pick the correct type of information in the beginning of the form.
You will receive a confirmation email for each course separately. Additionally, if the course has a fee, you will receive a payment link. Your enrolment becomes binding once you have paid the tuition fee. After a successful enrolment, you will receive instructions via email on registering your SEAMK user ID, logging into the Moodle learning platform, and other important study-related matters. Remember to check your email regularly!
If you are enroling for a master’s level studies, you need to attach a degree certificate to your enrolment.
Study fees
- Individual courses at Seinäjoki Open University of Applied Sciences cost 12€/credit point. Master’s degree level studies cost 15 €/credit point.
- Study modules are priced per product (12-15 €/credit point).
- Study fee for POLKU (Pathway) studies is 300€. For Master’s degree POLKU studies the fee is 150€.
- In addition to the actual study fees, studying may cause a customer some other reasonable costs (e.g. educational material)
- Exceptions will be announced separately.

Free of charge Open UAS studies
In certain situations, you can study at SEAMK Open UAS without paying a study fee. Learn more about the conditions for exemption below!
SEAMK’s Open UAS individual courses and study modules of less than 60 credits are free of charge for unemployed and laid-off people.
Enrollment takes place in SEAMK’s Continuous Learning online shop. When enrolling, select the option “I am unemployed or laid off.” You must include a certificate of validity of the unemployment or lay-off from Työmarkkinatori webpage or the local employment services while enrolling.

The benefit system does not apply to POLKU pathway studies in the Open University of Applied Sciences or to higher education diploma courses, for which there is a separate application process. The benefit does not apply to continuing education or specialization studies.
Students are responsible for determining the possible effects of their studies on their unemployment benefits.
Graduates of SEAMK (SEAMK Alumni) can enroll free of charge in individual Open UAS individal courses (Bachelor’s and Master’s level) for up to two years after graduation from SEAMK. Individual courses are offered each spring and autumn across various fields at SEAMK.
Enrollment takes place in SEAMK’s Continuous Learning online store.
When enrolling, select the option “I am an alumni of SEAMK Alumni and I have graduated within the last two years.” Your graduation date will be verified from Peppi after enrollment.
The alumni benefit does not apply to POLKU pathway studies, study modules, continuing education, or specialization studies.
From time to time, SEAMK Open UAS organizes campaigns during which you can enroll free of charge in specifically designated studies. Campaigns will always be announced separately.
