Student spotlight: Learning and belonging at SEAMK - Malsha’s story

International Business student Malsha is an Intern with the Business School Faculty, a Teaching Assistant, and a SEAMK Student Recruitment Ambassador. Her journey shows how practical learning and an international community come together at SEAMK.

Choosing SEAMK was a considered step for me—one shaped by a passion for international business and a belief that students learn best when theory meets practice. From day one, SEAMK felt like a place where learning and teaching genuinely go hand in hand. The Business School’s practical approach—real projects, teamwork, and close industry collaboration—has helped me translate classroom concepts into professional skills and confidence.

Working as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of International Business has been especially meaningful. Every week, I support students academically and help them adapt to a new educational and cultural environment. Those small moments—explaining an assignment, guiding a team meeting, or celebrating a presentation—show me how quickly students grow when they’re encouraged and trusted.

What drew me in most is SEAMK’s truly international environment. I learn alongside classmates from many countries and backgrounds, and our differences make discussions richer and solutions more creative. The culture here is open and respectful; lecturers, teaching assistants, and students work as partners. Ideas are welcomed, questions are expected, and feedback is constructive. Modern learning spaces and innovative teaching methods make this collaboration natural and inspiring.

For me, SEAMK is more than an institution—it is a community that supports growth, innovation, and international cooperation. Being part of this environment motivates me to contribute positively to student learning and to keep developing as a future professional in international business.

“Being part of SEAMK means learning, teaching, and growing together every day.”

SEAMK is an excellent choice for anyone seeking practical education in an international setting. My journey has been inspiring and rewarding, and I encourage future students to make the most of the opportunities here—to grow academically, professionally, and personally, and to join a community where collaboration leads to real impact.
