SEAMK introduces semester-based tuition fee payment model and updates the scholarship based on Finnish language proficiency
Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SEAMK) is implementing significant updates to its tuition fee practices and scholarship process. Starting from the academic year 2026–2027, SEAMK will:
- Introduce a semester-based tuition fee payment option for students liable for tuition fees.
- Update the scholarship model based on Finnish language proficiency.
These changes aim to clarify procedures, support students in managing tuition payments, and ensure equal treatment for all students liable for tuition fees. The scholarship applies to degree students admitted in 2024 or later.
Key Changes
1. Semester-based tuition fee payment
From 2026–2027 onward, continuing students can choose:
- Full academic year payment (March 1–May 31)
- Semester-based payment:
- Autumn semester: Half of the annual fee (March 1–May 31)
- Spring semester: Remaining half (June 1–August 31)
- Early Bird Discount: Students paying the tuition fee for full academic year by March 31 receive a 10% discount. Early Bird Discount is not available for semester-based payments.

2. Scholarship based on Finnish language proficiency
- The scholarship process has been clarified to encourage students to improve Finnish skills and integrate into Finnish society and working life.
- Application schedule and instructions will be published on SEAMK’s intranet during spring 2026.
