What is a double degree?
A double degree allows you to pursue two bachelor or two master degree programmes at the same time. Graduates of the programme will receive two bachelor or master degree certificates, one from SEAMK and one from the partner institution.
All double degree studies are based on active double degree agreements between SEAMK and double degree partner institutions.
SEAMK has 15 double degree agreements with higher education institutions in the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Spain. See the list of all double degree partner institutions at the bottom of this page.

Double degree studies for SEAMK students
Outgoing students from SEAMK
SEAMK’s bachelor level students in Business Management, International Business, Information Technology and Automation Engineering have the opportunity to obtain a double degree. The double degree at Master level is for students of International Business Management.
SEAMK students who are interested in a double degree must first discuss the matter with the Head of Programme and the Study Councellor. After that, students can contact SEAMK International Education Services for further information about the double degree requirements, partner universities and the application process.

Bachelor double degree studies for students from SeAMK partner institutions
Incoming students from double degree partner institutions to SEAMK
The bachelor double degree (DD) programme requires a student to study one academic year at the double degree partner institution. The structure of curricula and the content of teaching have been compared between the two institutions and the academic achievements are acknowledged to agreed extent. The courses a student needs to complete are defined in a personal study plan called Learning Agreement.
The double degree includes 30 ECTS of practical training. The bachelor thesis has to be written in English, under the supervision and evaluation of the two collaborating institutions.
The bachelor double degree studies include:
- Approximately 60 ECTS of the courses are studied at SEAMK
- 30 ECTS of practical training
- Bachelor thesis written in English
- Maturity test
Double degree applicants are requested to select courses for both autumn semester 2025 and spring semester 2026 in their Double Degree (DD) Learning Agreement. Please note that changes to the Learning Agreement can be done only with good reasons during the SeAMK study period. Changes in the course selection are possible.

The double degree students spend one year at the partner institution during their studies. The study langauge is English.
The double degree studies also include practical training, a thesis, a maturity test and other courses at the home institution according to a study plan.

Master double degree studies for students from SEAMK partner institutions
Incoming students from double degree partner institutions to SEAMK
The Master-level double degree programme allows students to earn two Master degree certificates, one from Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SEAMK), and the other from the double degree partner institution.
This programme is designed to provide students with a broad and diverse educational experience, exposing them to different academic cultures, teaching methods and research perspectives.
The structure of the Master-level double degree programme involves a combination of coursework and thesis.
Admission criteria
Students can only be nominated as double degree applicants by a double degree partner university of SEAMK. Applicants must have a Bachelor degree, along with a minimum of two years of work experience gained post-completion of the Bachelor degree and prior to enrollment in a master’s program. The master double degree studies include
- Approximately 15 ECTS of the courses are studied on SEAMK Campus
- Master thesis 30 ECTS is written in English, according to instructions from SEAMK. A responsible supervisor will be named from SEAMK and the thesis needs to meet the requirements of both institutions.
