Degree Programme in Food Processing and Biotechnology


Biotechnology and Food Processing students have brand new lecture rooms, an IT classroom and three laboratories provided with the most up-to-date equipment. In addition to microbe cultivation and determination, also product development, the optimization of unit operations as well as food and chemical analyses can be carried out in the biotechnology and food processing facilities.

Our laboratory includes e.g. new HPLC equipment with a UV and RI detector, a computer controlled Biostat–Q multifermentor, an ultrafiltration equipment, a texture analyzer and a calorimeter, a dough mixer, a packing machine with protective atmosphere, a micro-process controlled proving equipment and a farinograph, an extensograph and an amylograph.
