Empowerment and Social Work

Description: Welcome to study with us one of the main issues of social work. What does the concept of empowerment really mean in the context of social work? How do the different ideas on producing welfare influence in the goals and methods of social work? How can we promote change in our own thinking and in the lives of the clients? By participating in this module you can get answers and formulate new questions with a group of foreign and Finnish students.

Prerequisites: To be admitted to study the module you should have completed at least one year of studies on social work at your home university/university of applied sciences, and have a sufficient skills in English language to use it as a language of study. Application is done electronically using the the ECTS Application form of your own University/UAS.
