Transfer Application to SeAMK will be organised in the spring of 2024 at the Studyinfo.fi website.  A student may transfer to Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) from another university of applied sciences (UAS) in Finland to study for the same degree and degree title. It is also possible to apply for a transfer of degree programmes within SeAMK to change the title of a degree.

You can apply to the following study options at SeAMK in Transfer application 2024. Please follow these links below to find the admission criteria and instructions for applying at Studyinfo.fi -service:

Eligibility for a bachelor and master programmes

  • The student has valid study entitlement at some other University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
  • The student is enrolled in education leading to the same Degree and Degree Title where you apply transfer to. It will be evaluated whether the studies completed in the current university of applied sciences (UAS) are suitable to the degree programme at SeAMK.
  • The student has been registered as attending for at least two semesters. However, one may apply already during the second semester. If an applicant has started their studies in January, they can also apply.
  • It is possible to transfer from education conducted in Finnish or in English. You need to have the language skills needed in the degree programme. The language skills may be evaluated in an interview.
  • Minimum credits required when applying to Bachelor Programmes: The studies pursued by the student at their UAS of origin have progressed sufficiently. SeAMK requires a minimum of 22 study credits per semester of attendance or 44 study credits per one academic year of attendance. Only studies with a passing grade that are suitable to the degree programme one is applying to, are taken into consideration. The credits must be completed before the end of the application period. Credits entered after this deadline will not be taken into consideration.
  • Minimum credits required when applying to Master Programme: The studies pursued by the student at their UAS of origin have progressed sufficiently. SeAMK requires a minimum of 10 study credits per semester of attendance or 20 study credits per one academic year of attendance. Only studies with a passing grade that are suitable to the degree programme one is applying to, are taken into consideration. The credits must be completed before the end of the application period. Credits entered after this deadline will not be taken into consideration.
  • You also need to have a higher education degree completed in Finland or outside Finland to apply in the SeAMK Transfer Application to the Master of Business Administration, International Business Management -programme.
  • The student must have a realistic opportunity to earn their Degree within the remaining study entitlement period.

Required documents for SeAMK Transfer Application need to be attached to the online application form. Documents arriving late are not taken into consideration.

Changing the Degree Programme at SeAMK

A student of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences can apply for a change in degree programmes, when the degree programme aims for the same degree and same degree title. The next Application period is 2.-16.5.2024. Please see instructions and application form at the Student intranet.

Admission results

Admission results will be published at My Studyinfo.fi -service on 19.6.2024 at the latest. SeAMK Admission Services will also inform all applicants about their admission result by email. Admitted applicants are also informed how to get information about the start of studies. If you are admitted, your study entitlement in the UAS of origin will end automatically, when you accept the study place. Your study entitlement will start at SeAMK on 1 August 2024.

Accepting the study place and registering as a student for the academic year

Admitted applicants must confirm to accept the study place by 31.7.2024, 15.00 at the latest. If you don’t accept the study place by the designated deadline, you will lose it. When you accept the study place, you also need to register for the academic year 2024-2025 for attendance or non-attendance.

Please note that a first year student can register as non-attending only on the following legal grounds:

  1. completion of military service or civilian service in Finland
  2. maternity leave, paternity leave or parental leave or
  3. if you are unable to begin your studies due to illness or disability.

If you register for non-attendance, you must prove the legal grounds for your absence. Documents proving the legal grounds for your absence must be submitted to the SeAMK Admission Services by 31.7.2024, 15.00 at the latest. The student’s own notification is not an adequate clarification. The documents must be submitted in Finnish, Swedish or English.

Documents that prove the legal grounds for your non-attendance:

  1. service under the Conscription Act (1438/2007), Non-Military Service Act (1446/2007), or Act on Women’s Voluntary Military Service (194/1995): Call-up order
  2. maternity, paternity or parental leave: Kela’s certificate regarding maternity, paternity or parental allowance period or, if the certificate has not yet been received, a medical certificate regarding the pregnancy. Corresponding certificates from the authorities of other countries regarding statutory parental leave.
  3. the student cannot begin studies due to being incapacitated by personal illness or injury: Sickness allowance decision or, if no decision exists, a medical certificate. The medical certificate must state which illness or injury the student suffers from, and that this condition prevents the student from beginning their studies.

The student admission is conditional

The student admission is conditional until the information given on the application form and the transcript of records have been checked. Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences will withdraw the admission, if the applicant has not completed the required number of study credits within the stipulated time or the applicant has given false information in the application process. Admission can be withdrawn also after the studies have begun.

One study place per term provision

According to this provision, a student may accept only one study place leading to a higher education degree in Finland in education that begins in the same academic term. The academic term is either autumn term 1 August-31 December OR spring term 1 January – 31 July. Further information: One study place per term provision.

Request for rectification

If you believe that there has been a mistake in the student selection and the admission criteria have not been applied correctly, please see the admission criteria of the specific study option at SeAMK first. After this, contact SeAMK Admission Services. If the matter is not solved, you can do a written request for rectification regarding the decision on student admission. Any such request must make clear the grounds for the request. The request must include personal details and contact information of the applicant. Supporting documents, if any, must be attached to the request. The request for rectification regarding student admission of a study option at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences must be submitted by 5.7.2024, 15.00 at the latest.
