4. Purpose of processing personal data/data file use
The purpose of the Wihi is to support students in completing their theses and to enable an interactive guidance process between students and their supervisors.
In Wihi, the student’s personal data is linked to the thesis topic, tasks, and assessment, which enables the teacher supervising the thesis to guide and assess the thesis process. The thesis coordinator assigns supervisors to theses and can monitor the progress of the theses.
Students and teachers log in to the service with their SEAMK email address and password either directly from SEAMK Intra or via a web browser.
5. Purpose of maintaining the data file
The basis for processing personal data is the fulfillment of a statutory obligation in the educational activities of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.

5b. Information systems using the data file
Peppi study administration system:
- Peppi transfers student and teacher personal data to Wihi (section 5a)
- Wihi transfers the title and grade of the thesis to Peppi
6. Regular sources of data
The Peppi study administration system imports student and teacher personal data into Wihi (section 5a).
The student uploads their thesis to the Turnitin plagiarism detection system, and the analysis results are returned from Turnitin to Wihi.

The data will not be disclosed.

No data stored in the file is transferred outside the EU or the EEA.

B. Computer-processed data
Login to the register is done using SEAMK’s user management username and password. Users have access only to the part of the register they need during their current employment. Access rights are checked daily. Data processing and connections between technical subsystems are properly secured.
