Commencement of studies

The studies begin on Monday 4 September 2017 at 9.00 am in the Frami F -building, at Frami, the central campus of SeAMK, address: Kampusranta 11, 60320 Seinäjoki. The first days of studies include important orientation and therefore your attendance is important.

Confirmation to accept the study place and registration for the academic year

To confirm the study place offered to you, you have to accept it by 14 July 2017, 15.00 (+3 GMT) at the latest. You will lose the study place if you do not accept it by the deadline.

If you accept the study place, you also need to register for the academic year 2017-2018 as an attending or non-attending student by 14 July 2017, 15.00 (+3 GMT) at the latest. Further information on registration

How to do it?
– You can confirm the study place electronically with a link that has been sent to your email. The online service will guide you to register for the academic year at the same time. Please contact admissions(at) if you have any problems.
If you have a Finnish personal identity code and online banking credentials, mobile certificate or an electronic identity card you are advised to accept the study place electronically at or > “My Studyinfo” or “Oma Opintopolku”. The online service will guide you to register for the academic year at the same time.

Certificates are checked

Universities of applied sciences check the educational certificates that have had impact on the selection. The admission is conditional until the certificates are checked.
1. You need to send copies of your certificates by 14 July 2017, 15.00 (+3 GMT) at the latest to SeAMK Admission Services. If you have sent the copies to SeAMK already during the application period, you do not need to send them again. Provide the documents with an electronic form at or

Deadline to arrive

If you have registered for attendance, but have major trouble arriving in Finland/starting your studies on 4 September, please contact the Admission Services. The definite deadline to arrive is Monday 2 October 2017. Note, however, that it is very important to be present from the start with the programme starting on 4 September.

Student apartment

The student apartments in the city of Seinäjoki are offered by Sevas Oy student housing-service. Fill in the online application form once you get this info to improve your chances of getting an apartment!

Students arriving from outside European Union

Residence permit for studies

If you are a citizen of a non-EU/EEA-country you will need to apply for a residence permit for studies. For the residence permit application you need to enclose the Notification of Student Selection (acceptance letter), an account of sufficient funds and an account of sufficient health insurance. Do apply for the residence permit electronically, online, to speed up the processing! Read the instructions first:

Tuition fee and scholarships at SeAMK

The tuition fee at SeAMK is 6.800€ for one academic year. Since SeAMK charges the tuition fee in October 2017, after you have arrived in Finland, please attach also documentation of necessary means for paying the tuition fee to your residence permit application. You cannot use means reserved for your support to pay the tuition fee.

At SeAMK all first year students, who are required to pay a tuition fee, will be automatically granted a scholarship. There is no need for a scholarship application to be filled in. The scholarship is 3.400€ per academic year. Scholarships for first year students will be paid by 30 November 2017.

You are exempted from paying tuition fees if you provide one of the documents listed at to SeAMK Admission Services by 6 October 2017, 15.00 Finnish time.

Health Insurance: Student Insurance Program (SIP)

Student Insurance Program (SIP) has been tailored especially for the needs of international students studying in higher education institutions in Finland. It offers very extensive insurance cover for an affordable price compared to many other insurances. The Finnish Immigration Service recommends this insurance!

There are two insurance types: SIP Complement or SIP Integral. You can choose SIP Complement. It is meant for students like you who can access the public health care. After arriving in Seinäjoki, apply for a home municipality at the local registry office to be eligible for public health care.

Students arriving from outside Finland: In early August you will be sent a link to an electronic questionnaire, where you can inform your arrival date and time in Seinäjoki. There will be a tutor student to meet you when you arrive in Seinäjoki.
