Studying in Open UAS
Open University of Applied Sciences (Open UAS) provides a flexible opportunity to complete studies at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences regardless of educational background or age. In the Open UAS, you can take individual courses or complete broader study modules. Studying in the Open UAS can also serve as a pathway to becoming a degree student.
What is Open UAS?
The studies of the Open University of Applied Sciences could suit you if you:

In Open UAS, you can complete individual courses either online or on SeAMK campus, or non-stop online courses, where you can start studying flexibly at a time that suits you. Larger study modules are also available. Open UAS also offers pathway studies, which allow you to complete first-year courses of a specific degree program.
Enrollment to Open UAS Studies
Registration for studies is done using an electronic registration form. You will find the available courses on https://avoinamkopintojaksot.seamk.fi/#/en (English courses) and https://avoinamkopintojaksot.seamk.fi/#/ (Finnish courses). Enrollment is possible on each course’s description box on the page. Enrollment requires strong identification.
If you are interested in completing more extensive study modules of a specific Degree Programme or if you are interested in POLKU studies in a Degree Programme and you are planning to apply for as a degree student later on, consult the contact person of the Open University of Applied Sciences of the Faculty providing the Degree Programme of your choice.
Students are admitted to the courses in the order of registration. If the education has prerequisites or recommendations related to previous knowledge, they will be mentioned in the education brochure. Acceptance to the studies and the activation of information system credentials will be communicated via email. You will also receive information in the event that you are not accepted into the studies.
By registering for the courses, you commit to paying the participation fee unless you cancel your participation before the start of the studies according to the cancellation terms. SeAMK will send you an invoice for your studies at the beginning of the studies. The participation fee for Open UAS is determined based on the extent of the course.
The price for one credit point is 10 euros. The fee for the POLKU (Pathway) Studies in University of Applied Sciences is 300 euros, and for Master’s degree POLKU students, it is 150 euros.
