Apply in SeAMK Additional Application for Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing, multi-modal studies! Studies start in autumn 2023.

Please note: there is a requirement for Finnish language skills (level B1) and the entrance examination is organised on the SeAMK Campus, city of Seinäjoki, FINLAND.

SeAMK Additional Application is organized 1–8 August 2023. Fill in the online application form in Studyinfo-service. The application closes on 8 August at 15.00 (UTC+3).

By filling in the electronic application form you automatically give permission for electronic communication in the admission process. Make sure that you fill in your email address correctly. Check your email regularly and check also the SPAM-mail. It is your duty to act according to the instructions and designated deadlines. Finnish language skills requirement

The programme is taught and conducted mainly in English, but Nursing degree programme applicants are required to have basic Finnish skills (level B1). Please see the self-assessment grid: Common European Framework of reference for language. The English and Finnish skills are also tested in the entrance exam.

Finnish language will be used during practical training periods. The practical training is carried out in Finnish speaking organisations during the studies.

Health and functional capacity requirements

In social services and health care, studies include working with client groups requiring special protection, thus ethical requirements and requirements on patient or client safety are essential. Health and functional capacity of students shall be such that they are capable of performing assignments and practical training related to their studies. Studying and working in these professions requires sufficient physical, mental and social capacity.

Prerequisites for student admission are assessed when studies include requirements related to the safety of minors or patient or client safety (Universities of Applied Sciences Act, Section 33).

Based on the applicant’s notification filed at the application stage, the university of applied sciences may require more detailed health status information to assess whether the student will be able to manage the studies and which reasonable support measures may be required.

Entrance examination

Entrance examination for the study option Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing, multi-modal studies is organized on the SeAMK Campus, city of Seinäjoki, FINLAND, on 15 August 2023.

All eligible applicants may take part in the entrance examination. Information about the entrance examination will be sent to the email address given on the application form after the application period has ended. Check your email regularly and check also the SPAM-mail.

Time of the entrance examination: 15 August 2023 at 9.15–12.15. Registration time at 8.30–9.00.

Place of the entrance examination: SeAMK, Frami F, Kampusranta 11, 60320 Seinäjoki, FINLAND.

Make sure that you have a valid identification document to present in the entrance exam. The following ID documents are accepted:

  • passport
  • ID card with photo issued by an EU/EEA-country
  • Finnish driver’s license

Also, an expired passport or identity card is accepted if its validity has expired on 15 August 2022 or later. The applicant has to be identifiable on the document’s picture.

Structure of the Entrance Examination

  • Written test: English language skills (min. 15 p. / max 25 p.)
  • Written test: Finnish language skills (min. 15 p. / max 25 p.)

Feedback on the results

You can ask for feedback on your entrance exam result from Ms Suzana Zegrea, suzana.zegrea(a)seamk.fi on 21.8. during 10.00-11.00.

Student admission and documents required from the admitted

Admission results will be published on 17 August 2023 at the latest in My Studyinfo service. Admitted students will also be sent an email. If you are admitted, you need to confirm to accept the study place and register for the academic year 2023-2024 in Studyinfo service by 24 August 2023, 15.00 (UTC+3). If you do not accept the study place by the given deadline, you will lose it.

Please note that you can accept only one study place in studies, that begin in the same academic term and lead to a higher education degree in Finland.

Admitted students need to attach copies of their educational certificates to the online application form by 24 August 2023, 15.00. Student selection is conditional until SeAMK has checked the admitted students’ documents and information given on the application form.

Tuition Fee

Tuition fee is applicable to degree students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. The tuition fee in bachelor degree programmes conducted in English is 8000 € per academic year. NB! Early Bird scholarship is not offered for applicants admitted in SeAMK Additional Application.

If you are required to pay the tuition fee, you will be sent an invoice to pay the fee. Please note, that registration for the academic year is not possible before the tuition fee is paid.

You are exempted from paying tuition fees if you upload a copy of a document mentioned at www.seamk.fi/tuitionfees to the online application by 15 August 2023, 15.00 (UTC+3). Citizens of Finland are not required to provide proof of their citizenship as it will be verified from the population register.

Request for rectification

If you believe that there has been a mistake in the student selection and the admission criteria have not been applied correctly, please see the admission criteria of the specific study option at SeAMK first. After this, contact SeAMK Admission Services. If the matter is not solved, you can do a written request for rectification regarding the decision on student admission. Any such request must make clear the grounds for the request. The request must include personal details and contact information of the applicant. Supporting documents, if any, must be attached to the request. The request for rectification regarding student admission of a study option at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences must be submitted within 14 days from the publication of admission results, by 31 August 2023, 15.00 (UTC+3) at the latest. The request and its attachments must be sent to kirjaamo@seamk.fi

Personal laptop

It is required for new students to have a personal laptop for the duration of their studies. It is recommended that the laptop has an i5 processor with at least 8 GB of RAM. Engineering-students should also have a high quality Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The recommended operating system is Windows 10. Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences offers an office productivity software (text editor, spreadsheet and presentation program) free of charge for the duration of studies.
