PROGRAMMES FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences offers several programmes for exchange students. Exchange student applications from Seinäjoki UAS's partner institutions abroad are considered prior to other applications.

Also other courses taught in English are available in all faculties of Seinäjoki UAS. In addition, Finnish language and culture courses are offered for international students during their studies.

GATEWAY TO INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Description:
In the Gateway Programme you are offered a range of core international business studies which you can complement with one of the optional study streams: Global, Nordic, Baltic & Russian or E-Business. In addition, you can select Language & culture studies. The programme also includes an opportunity to participate in a study seminar abroad either in Sweden, Russia or Estonia.
Prerequisites: An applicant should possess basic knowledge of commerce and sufficient competence in the English language to follow instruction.
Language of Instruction: English
Study period: Autumn semester and Spring semester
Application deadline: Autumn Semester by 15 May and Spring Semester by November 15
Credits: 30-60 ECTS
Tuition fee: No tuition fee, 400-500 euros for the study tours

PROFESSIONAL STUDIES OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY

Description: Introduction to the professional studies of agriculture and forestry.Prerequisites: The applicants should be students enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences and have sufficient practical experience.
Language of Instruction: English
Study period: Annually from September to December or from February to May
Application deadline: Beginning of May for autumn semester or middle of November for spring semester
Credits: 30
Tuition fee: No tuition fee

PROFESSIONAL STUDIES IN THE SCHOOL OF CULTURE AND DESIGN

Description: The studies consist of professional courses, study projects and production studies in the following fields:

  • Design (Furniture Design, Graphic Design or Lifestyle Design),
    study period from September to December or from January to May (25 to 30 ECTS) 
  • Cultural Management (Socio-cultural Work specialized in Music, or Media Management),
    study period from March to June (25 to 30 ECTS) 
  • Library and Information Services: “Multicultural Libraries”,
    study period from February to May (25 ECTS)

Special prerequisites: The basics of the studies of the respective degree programme and the communication skills
of the English language are essential.
Language of Instruction: English
Application deadlines: Beginning of May for Autumn semester, end of November for Spring semester
Tuition fee: No tuition fee

NON-DEGREE STUDIES IN THE SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY

Special prerequisites: The basics of the studies of the respective degree programme and the communication skills
of the English language are essential.
Language of Instruction: English
Study period: From September to December
Application deadline: May 15 
Credits: Professional studies up to 97 ECTS depending on the degree programme + General studies up to 32 ECTS. The total amount of ECTS point acquired in one semester depends on the studies chosen by the student. The total amount of 30 ECTS can be regarded as a rough guideline for one-semester studies.
